Exciting New Hotel Frederiksted Collaboration

Recently, I was offered a very exciting opportunity to make a Rhapsody Bunny Doll with Jennifer Paganelli's new range of fabric - Hotel Frederiksted - before the fabric has even been released! The offer came from the incredibly talented Sarah of Piccolo Studio. I've been a fan and follower of Sarah's for a long time now, and I knew that her vision for the fabric and subsequent photo shoot would be stunning. The following photos were taken by Angela Lisman of Angela Lisman Photography.

Sarah created this quilt... Breathtaking!

The combination of prints and colours are stunning! I'm sure that this collection of fabrics will be very popular. And the quilt pattern designed by Sarah herself is so unique. I just love the addition of the pom pom too.

I was honoured to make this bunny for Sarah's daughter Hannah.

Just look at them together, best friends.

{Progress} Unicornia Quilt for Isla Skye || Rhapsody and Thread

Collection of Liberty Fabric and Kona Cotton for Unicornia Quilt

Choosing fabrics was SO MUCH FUN!
We chose the plain and coloured quilting weight cotton fabrics from Carols of Midland. The Liberty fabrics came from a range of places including ShaukatThe Strawberry Thief and Materialise Your Life.

Deciding which prints to put where was more challenging, but watching the pattern pieces come together was fantastic! Mum helped me. I think we had The Proposal on the telly, and we traced and ironed and cut for hours!

Then placing the pattern pieces on the blocks was really fun! Don't they look beautiful!

NEW Unicornia Quilt Pattern by Claire Turpin Designs

Unicornia Quilt Pattern by Claire Turpin Designs

I couldn't resist this gorgeous new quilt pattern "Unicornia" by Claire Turpin Designs
Isla is cah-razy about unicorns. You might remember the Unicorn Doll I made her last year. Here's a link to that post. So adorable... I may have even made her another one a couple of weeks ago... Eep!

Of course I didn't factor in what a huge project this would be as I don't make a lot of quilts. Well actually, I've only ever made two. Both for Isla. And I cringe when I think about taking off the last one that I worked so hard on, but the look on her face is just going to make all of that worthwhile.

Stay tuned!
